Farah Azaliya Mahadi is a Malaysian-qualified lawyer and Registered Foreign Lawyer at Adams & Moore Solicitors LLP in the City of London. She works on complex, high-value and cross-border commercial matters, with a particular focus on offshore energy, shipping, shipbuilding, marine insurance and international trade.

Farah was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2017 and is registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority as a Registered Foreign Lawyer in England and Wales. She holds a Master of Laws degree in Oil, Gas and Renewable Energy Law from Swansea University (with Distinction), where she was awarded the Stephenson Harwood Energy Law Prize 2023 and the HFW Oil and Gas Law Prize 2023. She also holds Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) and Bachelor of Legal Studies (with Honours) degrees from Universiti Teknologi MARA, and is qualified in Shariah law.

Farah handles both contentious and non-contentious matters. Her work includes contractual and advisory matters relating to offshore energy and maritime projects, including the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) units, vessel newbuilds and retrofit projects, marine construction and engineering arrangements and industry-standard forms. She is also advising on the cross-border offshore energy developments, including wind farms.

Her recent work includes advising on decommissioning-related regulatory and contractual issues, including demobilisation and recycling contractual arrangements for a FPSO, the transboundary waste movement (including NORMs), allocation of environmental liabilities and contract structure. She has also undertaken advisory work on emissions-trading issues, international carriage and limitation regimes, competition law, arbitration confidentiality and commercial compliance matters.

She has been involved in multiple forums of dispute resolution including arbitrations under the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) and Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) Rules, as well as adjudications under the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 (Construction disputes).

Farah was involved in the landmark M.V. Win Win war-risks insurance litigation before the High Court and the Court of Appeal of England and Wales. She was also involved in a successful arbitration concerning a technically complex scrubber retrofit project and an arbitration concerning the design life of an offshore wind farm. She has worked on technically complex shipbuilding, marine retrofit and offshore construction disputes.

Before joining Adams & Moore, Farah practised in Malaysia as an Advocate and Solicitor. Her experience included onshore and offshore energy matters, construction disputes, including adjudications under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012, intellectual-property matters and regulatory and contractual work relating to autonomous vehicles and machineries. She has a particular interest in legal innovation in the energy sector, decarbonisation and carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS).

Farah has authored work published in the European Journal of Commercial Contract Law. She co-authored the United Kingdom chapter of Shipping Law 2026 and Shipping Law 2025 for the International Comparative Legal Guide. She is a member of the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA).
